As a PROtestant Catholic Christian, I was not a Roman Catholic Christian. I was encouraged to think and witness for myself.

Are anti-religionists totally unaware that there is a difference? Some religions are sick, some are not!

c andrews: WOW! Quite a typo, you’re correct. I think the words “refuse to” were left-overs from a prior draft of the sentence. They’ve been removed, leaving: “for those who choose to think independently”. Thank-you.

For those who, in the face of religion, refuse to defer; who refuse to replace reason with faith; for those who refuse to choose to think independently, and who demand evidence; for those who reject the notion that their own happiness is a sin, and that their only reason for living is to sacrifice themselves; for all such people, religion resorts to technique number three: coercion.

A typo, I’m sure. But did you mean ,”refuse to choose to think DEPENDENTLY? “Or perhaps, “choose to think INDEPENDENTLY.”
